Steve Wilhite is President of Schneider Electric’s global Sustainability Business. Steve joined Schneider Electric in 2011 through its acquisition of Summit Energy where he had been CEO and President since 2001. Since that time, his team has become the largest energy buyer in the world managing more than $30 billion in energy spend for 4,500+ clients across more than 100 countries. Steve joined Schneider Electric in 2011 through its acquisition of Summit Energy where he had been CEO and President since 2001. Since that time, his team has become the largest energy buyer in the world managing more than $30 billion in energy spend for 4,500+ clients across more than 100 countries. Under Steve’s leadership, the Sustainability Business has expanded its scope beyond traditional energy procurement to deliver services and digital solutions in renewable energy and environmental commodity procurement, energy efficiency, sustainability, climate change mitigation and risk management, and value chain engagement. The company calls more than 30% of the Fortune 500 its clients and 2,700+ companies worldwide rely on its EcoStruxure™ Resource Advisor AI-enabled software.
Prior to joining Schneider Electric, Steve provided consulting services to several Fortune 500 companies that compete in the deregulated retail energy industry. He also held a variety of leadership positions at FPL Energy Services, Duke-Louis Dreyfus, and International Paper. Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Wheaton College and a master’s degree from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. He enjoys spending time with family, golf and other outdoor activities, and generally quotes lines from the same six movies.
