Join us as Asmaa reflects on her career, shares her advice for those looking to work in the field of sustainability, and looks ahead to the future of sustainability at Schneider Electric.
My path into the world of sustainability and community impact was ignited by a passion for helping others. The desire to make a tangible difference in the societies where we live and operate has always been a driving force.
Being involved in various volunteer groups and NGOs exposed me to the realities faced by vulnerable communities, fueling my commitment to empower and support them. One particularly impactful experience was working on projects addressing critical issues like water, food, and energy in rural areas. Seeing the resilience and determination of these communities sparked a profound desire to contribute to lasting change.
Beyond addressing immediate needs, I am also deeply passionate about empowering young people. I believe in equipping them with the skills and confidence to shape their own futures in a rapidly evolving world.
This passion for service and empowerment led me to Schneider Electric

Discovering Schneider Electric, a company whose mission and values resonated with my own, felt like a perfect alignment. My career journey has been diverse with Schneider from the start, ranging from administrative roles to supporting top management. These positions provided valuable insights into stakeholder communication, project management, and customer satisfaction. But more importantly, they showed me the power of teamwork. Successfully achieving our goals and maximizing our impact required a collaborative approach, engaging with various stakeholders to better serve our communities.
I have also had the chance to build strategic governmental partnerships and amplify impact through collaborations with the development and private sectors, which further solidified my passion for making a real difference.
Schneider didn’t just offer me a job; it offered me a platform for growth
In 2015, I led a team of 15 passionate volunteers, promoting Schneider’s technologies and solutions to support our communities. This role honed my leadership and project management skills, while also providing a deep understanding of our technologies’ potential for positive change. In 2020, I was appointed the NEAL Cluster Territory Sustainability Lead, alongside my role as Executive Assistant to the Cluster President. This position required strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and effective communication to drive sustainability initiatives across the region.
Additionally, participating in two successive COPs has been an incredible journey of growth and learning for me. Starting from scratch, I immersed myself in community development, gaining valuable insights and skills along the way. It’s truly rewarding to see the impact of putting knowledge into practice—transforming ideas into meaningful actions that make a difference.
Now, as the Sustainability Manager for the NEAL Cluster, I lead a team of talented sustainability impact project engineers. Together, we implement innovative solutions and drive meaningful change.

My role is deeply intertwined with Schneider Electric’s mission to make energy safe, reliable, efficient, and sustainable
By leading sustainability initiatives and empowering communities, I directly contribute to this goal. My work extends beyond implementing sustainable practices; it’s about inspiring others to embrace our mission and values. I strive to create a positive and lasting impact on the communities we serve, ensuring that our operations are environmentally responsible and socially inclusive.
By fostering a culture of sustainability within the NEAL Cluster, I help Schneider Electric achieve its sustainability commitments.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been witnessing the tangible impact of our sustainability projects
Seeing the smiles on community members’ faces after implementing a clean water initiative was incredibly fulfilling. Mentoring and inspiring others within Schneider Electric to embrace our mission and values has also been a significant highlight. This experience as a Sustainability Manager is my best career experience as it directly connects my work to positive community outcomes.

Crucially, the unwavering trust and support from my managers have been instrumental in my journey, enabling me to realize my potential and drive meaningful impact across our operations and communities. Schneider Electric has empowered me to grow and develop, not just professionally, but personally. The company’s commitment to its employees is evident in the support and opportunities provided. The managers and colleagues here truly believe in your potential and encourage you to push your boundaries.
Looking ahead, I am eager to expand my knowledge in advanced sustainability practices and explore the intersection of digital transformation and sustainability. I aim to deepen my understanding of global sustainability trends and policies to better align our initiatives with broader environmental and social goals.
What excites me most is the opportunity to share this experience with others. By transferring what I’ve learned and creating a knowledge platform, I hope to inspire others to follow, contribute, and build upon it. This journey has shown me the power of collaboration and continuous learning, and I’m grateful to be part of a community dedicated to driving positive change.
If you’re looking for a company where your values align with your work, and where you can make a real impact, I wholeheartedly encourage you to consider Schneider Electric.
Stay curious, embrace challenges, build strong relationships, and stay true to your values. The future of Schneider Electric and the field of sustainability is incredibly exciting, with immense potential for innovation and positive change. I am inspired by our collective commitment to drive sustainability and create a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive world.
