The Alliance to Save Energy welcomed energy efficiency evangelists from around the world to EE Global, what they call “the crème de la crème of energy efficiency conferences.” Schneider Electric is pleased to be one of three founding sponsors of the annual event, held this year in sunny Orlando,Florida.
I am lucky enough to be in attendance with luminary thought leaders and “movers and shakers” in the energy efficiency world. This morning, those who attended a very dynamic plenary session heard from incredible speakers. Dr. Kandeh Yumkella, from the UN’s Industrial Development Organization, opened with a passionate keynote on how access to energy means prosperity for all.
The final speaker of this morning’s session was Jeff Drees, Schneider Electric’s US Country President. Jeff shared an energetic message about accepting the call to become energy champions and bring energy access to all. From what I heard from people who stopped by booth 201 after Jeff’s words, many attendees have already accepted the challenge to be (as Jeff said) “energy geeks” and move beyond the basics towards innovations like smart cities.
The afternoon sessions await, and this attendee can’t wait to get back to the conference and see all that EE Global 2012 has to offer. If you’d like to see more about this relevant event, please check out this video or follow us on Twitter for real-time updates.
