As I was approaching my final year of university, I reflected on my diverse work experiences while at university, ranging from electrical contracting to management consulting and the biomedical industry, I realize that change has been a constant in my career journey. Each role has equipped me with unique skills, perspectives, and a hunger for new challenges.
Discovering Schneider Electric’s Internship Program
When I decided it was time for another change, I sought an opportunity that would allow me to delve into the renewable energy space. It was then that I discovered Schneider Electric’s internship program, Schneider is a global leader passionate about sustainability, innovation, and empowering its employees to make a real impact, it’s also leading the charge in the transition towards integrating renewables as a part of the new energy landscape.
Becoming an intern at Schneider Electric has been an exciting transition. The prospect of contributing to cutting-edge projects, collaborating with talented teams, and immersing myself in a culture of continuous learning has fuelled my enthusiasm. I was eager to leverage my diverse background to bring fresh insights to the table and to grow both personally and professionally within this renowned organization.
Contributing to Renewable Energy Projects
I was able to contribute to a variety of projects that piqued my interest and also leveraged my skillset, including projects that involved researching the future of the renewables industry, I dived into the world of renewables, scouting for upcoming projects and digging into the exciting green hydrogen industry. I sifted through market trends, project locations, and all the nitty-gritty details of green hydrogen. It was all about figuring out which projects were really going places and getting the lowdown on what’s happening in the industry. This deep dive gave me a real insider’s view and a solid understanding of where the industry is headed and provided me with key insights that I’m sure I’ll carry throughout the rest of my career.
Utilizing Coding Skills for Automation
I also got the opportunity to utilize my coding skills to automate laborious processes within Excel for the tendering team, which ultimately enhanced team efficiency. Through the automation of tedious processes via PowerAutomate and Excel macros I was able to significantly optimize workflows and save valuable time of other members of the team.
Engaging Across Business Units at Schneider Electric
I was also fortunate enough to engaging with professionals across various business units at Schneider, particularly within Power Systems, provided me with invaluable technical insights into my own business unit and a deeper understanding of the broader organization. These interactions offered a holistic view of Schneider Electric’s operations, strategic initiatives, and the interconnectedness of different units. The networking opportunities also enriched my professional growth and contributed to a comprehensive grasp of the company’s multifaceted ecosystem.
Embracing Change with Schneider’s Internship Program
As I wrap up my university journey and embrace my role at Schneider Electric, I realize that change has been a constant in my career.
