Sustainability, development and people – three reasons why Schneider Services is a Great Place to Work

When I was first asked to write a blog post as an ambassador for Schneider Services, I accepted without hesitation. It was a no-brainer – of course, I would embrace this chance to shed light on my experiences and contribute to attracting talented individuals seeking a fulfilling career at a great company. Not because I had to, but because I wanted to.

Schneider Services is an enriching and rewards career

When people ask about Schneider Electric and my role, I always respond that I am very grateful to have found such a good workplace right after graduating from university and that I genuinely struggle to envision a more enriching professional environment despite my limited exposure to other employers (not counting my various summer jobs where I did everything from working at the local supermarket to trying to get young girls to learn how to play football). Now, I aim to share my reflections and explore the reasons why I enjoy working in Schneider Services and why I have chosen to remain with the company for nearly three years – and plan to stay for many more years to come. And these are the top three findings behind my response.

The ability to contribute to a more sustainable world.

For me, it is very important to work for a company whose purpose I find meaningful and aligns with my personal values. Working for a company serious about accelerating sustainability is fulfilling and crucial given today’s global climate challenges. From an environmental, social, and financial standpoint.

At Schneider Electric, sustainability is ingrained in every aspect of our work. While I might not feel like I am saving the planet when performing my daily tasks, I am aware that our collective aim as a team and company is to empower our customers to make the most of their energy and resources, thereby making a positive impact. For Schneider Services, the business unit I work for, our sustainability work feels even more tangible since we work with extending the lifetime of customer’s current electrical installations and systems. We are also supporting them on their decarbonization journey with digital monitoring solutions so they can make informed decisions to save energy and CO2 emissions, among many other benefits. Of course, no company is perfect, and we can always do more to accelerate our sustainability work internally – but we have clear goals and transparent reporting to track our progress to reach our sustainability commitments. This sense of purpose goes beyond mere profit-making and is something I value highly.

The many opportunities to grow.

The second reason I enjoy my job is the flexibility to customize my role’s responsibilities. Schneider’s non-hierarchical structure and inclusive culture ensure that everyone’s voice and ideas are valued. While I have a defined job description, I can express my interest in specific trainings or explore new projects.

Moreover, being part of a global company means endless career paths and roles, and the possibility to relocate to other countries and locations. This focus on growth creates a dynamic and stimulating work environment. It empowers employees to evolve both personally and professionally while contributing to the company’s success. When I’m prepared to embrace a new challenge and role, there are numerous paths to explore based on my areas of interest.

The SE Great People.

Last but not least, I want to highlight what I believe is the most important factor why I enjoy work: the people. As a typical extrovert, I recharge by being around others and enjoy discussing work (and sometimes unrelated topics) with people. The main reason I come into the office regularly is the presence of open-minded, collaborative, and friendly coworkers. While I value remote work freedom, my mental health and collaboration thrive with in-person interaction.

When working at a large company in the Nordic-Baltic unit, you’ll collaborate with people worldwide, diverse in culture. These interactions inspire creativity and best practices globally, fostering diverse perspectives. It’s also bettering my name-recall skills, as I sometimes reintroduce myself to a colleague without realizing we’ve already spoken!

But that is a work in progress, and in the meantime, I am happy to contribute to some good laughs. Ultimately, it’s the people at Schneider Electric who make work enjoyable and fulfilling.

Creating a positive impact on the world around me

In conclusion, my journey with Schneider Electric has been rewarding in many ways. Mainly due to the impact I can make, growth opportunities, and the great people I work with. As I progress in my career, I aim to enhance sustainability efforts, pursue new opportunities, and collaborate with like-minded individuals.

In sharing my reflections, I aim to offer genuine insight into my love for my Schneider Services career. I always recommend Schneider Electric as an employer for those seeking meaningful work!
