Yep, you read that right, I chose Schneider Electric over a Ph.D. and I don’t regret it one bit.
I believe that a career can take off and keep growing when motivation is the main driver. This motivational factor comes from different business leaders, working environments, recognition & more. Schneider Electric provides me countless learning opportunities through various learning courses, on-job practice, and opportunities in connecting with people from other functions.
This journey of positive work culture has been enjoyable, rewarding, and fulfilling. During my time in Schneider, I have received 4 awards and was also part of various learning & development initiatives, including the Champions Club. In addition, our Project in the ‘Lead to Achieve’ learning program was ranked amongst the top 3 of our batch. Apart from my core job, I have successfully launched many digital initiatives like bFO (bridge Front Office) & PRM (Partner Relationship Management) in the country, while leading the implementation of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system for Bangladesh.
My experience as part of the ‘Lead to Achieve’ learning development program:
Lead to Achieve was a fascinating program. It’s a learning initiative that connects Schneider associates from different functions, through collaboration as a team with people from different parts of the world.
During the program, we were tasked to complete a project on digitization. I was part of a team that comprised of associates from different parts of the world – it was great to exchange ideas and network with global exposure during our project. The bond between us continues to this day.
This Lead to Achieve Program helped me understand the big picture – how people from different functions, connect to execute one goal, making the best effort from his/her experience, and learning from others. The experience was mesmerizing on all levels – I am thankful to be part of it.
My key takeaways from the session were best practices from leadership, how to be a lifelong learner, and I was able to forge many new relationships.
The Turning Point of My Career in Schneider Electric – Schneider over a Ph.D.
If I had to pick a ‘catalyst moment’ in my career, it would have to be back in 2008. I was working in a local firm during that time and learned about Schneider Electric and its product range. Later, I was selected for a job opening but I was confused about the next steps since I was trying for an entrance to a Ph.D. program abroad. Today, I am very glad I made my decision to go with Schneider Electric.
