Being a single mother requires double the effort and double the attention. 2020 was such a challenging year for me with all the uncertainties, fears, and support I needed to give to my daughter experiencing online schooling for the first time in a critical year and also pushing myself to stay positive and hopeful!
But I didn’t do that on my own, Schneider Electric helped me, empowered me, and truly provided me with all the tools I needed to pass this unique, unforgettable year. From all the wellbeing programs, sessions and workshops I attended to the regular communications and online catch-ups with our management teams to the flexible policies of working from home to stay safe and healthy to the online development kits on how to work properly and efficiently from home. Not a single small detail was missed.
I felt safe and proud working for such an employer that is taking good care of me and my life.
My daughter used to think that my career was taking me from her, taking too much time from us – in 2020 we were able to build an even stronger connection! She introduced me more to her world and I did the same – she is now more familiar with what I do and she had a sense of how important my role is – she had the chance to celebrate work wins with me, share moments of success with me and we took photos and shared with the teams too 😊
The new ways of working policies are giving us the power to drive our lives and careers and to work efficiently. Being able to work 2 days or more from home gives us the flexibility to spend more time with our families and kids, develop our skills and live a balanced life.
During 2020, I was able to give more attention to my purpose, my favorite hobby which is life coaching and women empowerment coaching – I was able to manage my time better and feel empowered to not only be positive and happy but also help and support other people and positively impact the world.
I also was able to finalize 2 important certificates related to my career and job in Schneider and expand my capabilities and skills. In 2021, I #ChooseToChallenge stereotypes! Women don’t have to prove themselves anymore, time has proven that we’re capable to handle whatever life can throw at us, I #ChooseToChallenge change! Change is not always a bad thing – sometimes it is all you need to transform and grow.
I wouldn’t have done all that without Schneider Electric.

Being a single mom myself I can totally relate to you. It is really difficult to shuffle work and home life, and it is always a challenge to give your best to both worlds. Oddly enough I have noticed that it is us single moms who stand out more and compete equally with men in our fields. It’s inspiring to see women flourishing professionally with all the obstacles thrown at us in life. Really proud of every women out there who fights everyday and proves to everyone that we are all in it together.

Hey Priya, there is a little fighter inside of every single mother who wants to prove she can make it! She can survive whatever life throws at her. 😊 I think we are blessed with the right spirit and hence we always strive to offer the best life to our kids and to ourselves as well. I have also noticed the same! Stay blessed!
