Schneider Electric: More than a name, it is my future, past and present

2017, me, Schneider Electric and Schneider Go Green

It was on a summer day of 2017 when I first heard of Schneider Electric and its annual global student innovation competition called Schneider Go Green, thanks to my teacher. Inspired by his sharing, I couldn’t wait to learn more about this challenge. It turns out that Go Green is a fantastic opportunity for  students worldwide to challenge themselves by exploring bold ideas in energy management and efficiency.

Immediately, I focused all my attention on this competition and since then, I began my Schneider Go Green journey. That year, my team became the national champion of Vietnam. Although we did not win the Asia Pacific (APAC) regional final, I had the chance to meet so many outstanding #SEGreatPeople during this competition. Their genuine warmth, care, and dedicated mentoring made me gradually “fall in love” with Schneider Electric!

2018, me, Schneider Go Green Global Final in Atlanta and Women In Business Prize

This time, my teammate and I luckily made it to both the APAC finals and the global finals in Atlanta, Georgia, USA!

In November 2018, I met other Go Greeners from all over the world who share the same passion for sustainable energy! Together we presented our ideas to an impressive panel of judges in the beautiful city of Atlanta. I could see that the jury panel who was made of senior leaders from Schneider Electric really paid attention to every single idea from us, and that reinforced my impression of how Schneider truly empowers the young generation. While in Atlanta, I also took part in Schneider’s Innovation Summit, where I was blown away by the inspiring keynote of CEO Jean-Pascal Tricoire and Schneider’s latest innovations. At the end of this memorable journey, my team won the Women In Business (now called the Women in Energy award) prize recognizing the best all-women team. This prize was the best way to close a wonderful year full of extraordinary experiences thanks to Schneider.

2020, me, and Learning every day at Schneider

Fast forward, 2020 is another special year as I am now an intern at Schneider Electric Vietnam. Currently, I’m working for the HR department and support the team on recruitment, event organization, and employer branding. Joining the team has been an interesting challenge because everything is new to me. However, with the support and mentoring from senior managers, I can learn every day at Schneider Electric. As per the famous adage: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. I strive to do my best every single day and bring out a better version of myself.

This year, Schneider Go Green will be launching their first-ever live pre-show on September 8th, open to all students! During the live event, you’ll be able to hear from and interact with Schneider Electric leaders and guests such as  CHRO Charise Le, SVP of Talent and Diversity Tina Mylon, and many more!

You won’t want to miss it, so join us! Register on LinkedIn or Facebook and we’ll see you on September 8th!
