Reflecting on My Schneider Journey: From Intern to Secure Power member
I started as an intern at Schneider Electric in March 2017. Almost 4 months later, I was offered a full-time position to join the team! Although my career at Schneider Electric had just begun, I was excited to see what my future with the company would bring.
Lessons learned from embarking on team projects
Following my internship, I started as a Sales Administration Assistant. My role is to support our team in bidding projects and resolving some of the most difficult customer issues, which allowed me to learn so much over a short period of time.
At the end of 2018, I had the opportunity to join the East Asia & Japan basecamp workshop where I learned how to apply Design Thinking to our “Improving Master Material Creation Project”. Our team found out the root cause, proposed new solutions, and achieved very good results: our delay tickets were reduced from 30% to 15%. In addition, I made many friends throughout the workshop that I have kept in touch with.
Earlier this year, I supported my manager on the 2020 Annual Market Report project where I had to evaluate competitors’ market shares by analysing custom data, our market share, and the forecast of our Product Available Market (PAM) in the next few years.
I look forward to finding my niche and building my career in it in the future. For now, I will continue to sharpen my skills with the support of my colleagues.
Joining an inclusive and performing team
I personally believe Schneider’s tagline “Great people make Schneider Electric a Great Company” rings true. Since I joined the company, I have been warmly welcomed with open arms and felt immediately at home. Everyone here is genuinely kind and supportive, so I am very happy to work with them every day. We go to work and play with a great sense of joy and dedication, and to me, that is a sign of a great company.
Since working at Schneider Electric, I still don’t know who I want to be. However, what I know better is what I want to do. Thanks to my VP who led by example and encouraged me to take ownership and responsibility for my work, I have been able to find out more about how I envision my career path.
All in all, my experience with Schneider Electric has been positive. I’ve learned so much and acquired many skills that will help me to succeed both in my personal life and career – through meeting with new people, getting outside of my comfort zone, or taking part in well-being activities such as yoga, running sessions, or swimming classes with my colleagues.
I’m very grateful for the opportunities that Schneider has offered me as an intern and now a full-time employee. And I can’t wait to explore what’s next for me at Schneider Electric!
