At Schneider Electric, we empower our colleagues to unleash their potential and run ahead of the competition. One of the ways to facilitate this is through targeted Career Development Interventions for employees across our organization. I was part of ‘OJAS’ – one such intervention at Schneider Electric India in the past. This Q&A style blog below recounts my experience:
Q.1. Tell us about your journey with Schneider Electric
My 5 years at Schneider Electric have been very fast-paced, full of new challenges, and learning. Supply Chain – the function I am part of, has its own unique challenges that present different opportunities to learn and grow every day.
Schneider gives us an opportunity to learn new things, nurture our ideas, and bestows on us the confidence to execute them. What I also cherish is that the organization empowers us to make independent decisions that could directly impact our customers’ experience and satisfaction.
Q.2. What have been some significant achievements in your career with us?
The Quality team in the India Logistics team has been one of the top-performing teams in the Logistics territory with the lowest Delivery Complaint rates from 2015 to date. The continual success has been achieved with great collaboration, a drive to constantly improve, and deliver a truly world-class logistics and supply chain experience.
The quality team always takes on challenging projects and works hand in hand with internal and external customers to bring about the desired improvement in warehouses, transport operations & supplier management.
Q.3. You were nominated for the Career Development Intervention – OJAS 2018 program. What are your recollections & memories from the program?
OJAS was a great learning experience. We had participants from various other functions and geographies within Schneider Electric. The curriculum was extremely pointed and precise, with qualified facilitators for both, the online and classroom sessions.
OJAS is a Mid-Level Leadership Acceleration Program at Schneider Electric India, aimed at developing and grooming future-ready leaders in the organization.
Q.4. How did the program ameliorate your career in Schneider Electric? What are your key takeaways from the program?
There were many insights shared by the ‘Hogan Self-Assessment’ that helped me understand my strengths, performance risks, and values. The program has enabled me to incorporate design thinking into my work while enabling me to communicate effectively about my professional development. It has also aided my project management skills while building rapport and influencing when communicating with stakeholders. I also understood the concept of ‘fail fast’ and its criticality in the quest for innovation.
Q.5. How has Schneider supported your career & aspirations?
Schneider Electric’s development and career advancement interventions played a key role to ensure that I was prepared and developed for my next role. In addition, the mentoring program I was part of also supplemented the training I received – it enabled me to put the learnings to good use.
At Schneider Electric, we empower our employees to #LearnEveryDay through on-demand training, new ways of working, Open Talent Market, and career advancement & development interventions.
