Hi, I’m Julia. I’m a Talent Acquisition Business Partner based in Germany, and I work closely with our Services teams across Schneider Electric. I talk to candidates every day who want to know what it’s really like to work in Services. So I thought I’d share a bit about what we look for, what makes the role unique, and how you can stand out in the interview.
If you’re someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems on the spot, and making a real impact for customers, you’re probably wired differently. And that’s exactly who we’re looking for.

What is Services at Schneider Electric?
Our Services business supports the full lifecycle of our products. That includes maintenance, modernization, and digitalization. We’re hiring Services Representatives across low and medium voltage (LV/MV), UPS, and cooling.
As a Services Representative, you’re the person our customers count on. Commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs are all part of your day-to-day. On top of that, you’ll offer advice either on-site or over the phone, helping customers solve issues that affect their operations. Because collaboration is key, you’ll work with other teams to resolve escalations and share knowledge across the business.
It’s a hands-on role, and it’s not for everyone. But if you’re someone who likes to get up early, travel to different sites, and take on challenges without needing to be told what to do, you’ll thrive here.
Why people who are wired differently succeed here
We know Services Representatives are built differently. You’re independent, practical, and quick to act. That’s why we’ve shaped the role to give you the freedom and support you need.
Here’s what makes it work:
- You’re trusted to work your way
You won’t be micromanaged. You’ll have the autonomy to do your job, with support available when you need it.
- You’re the expert in the room
Customers count on you to spot issues early and fix them fast. You keep things running, and that matters.
- You’re part of a learning community
You’ll get regular training and be part of a team that shares knowledge and helps each other out.
- You have space to grow
There are career paths across Schneider Electric, so you can build a future here and keep developing your skills.
- You’re rewarded for your work
We offer competitive pay, travel time compensation, company-provided transportation, and flexible leave options. We know your time and effort are valuable.
Why you should apply
If helping customers solve real problems motivates you, then you’re already aligned with what matters most here.
Moreover, Schneider Electric is a place where action leads to impact. We act with speed, responsibility, and integrity. Because of that, our teams are trusted by customers to deliver solutions that keep their operations running smoothly.
In addition, the Services Representative role offers more than just technical work. For instance, you’ll build relationships, share knowledge, and contribute to a team that values collaboration. Likewise, you’ll have access to ongoing training and development, which means your growth doesn’t stop once you’re hired.
Above all, we’re looking for people who take ownership. That is to say, we want individuals who don’t wait to be told what to do; they see a problem and solve it. Consequently, your impact will be felt immediately, both by your team and by the customers you support.
To sum it up, if you’re wired differently — practical, independent, and driven by purpose — this is the kind of role where you’ll thrive.
My #1 interview tip
First and foremost, be yourself. That’s the best advice I can give. In other words, don’t try to present a version of yourself you think we want to see. Instead, talk honestly about your experience, your strengths, and how you approach challenges.
For example, if you’ve handled a tough situation in the field, share how you solved it. By doing so, you help us understand how you think and how you work under pressure.
Most importantly, show us what drives you. Whether it’s customer satisfaction, technical excellence, or teamwork, we want to know what keeps you motivated. Similarly, we’re interested in how you learn and grow — not just what you already know.
To clarify, we’re not looking for perfection. We’re looking for people who are real, reliable, and ready to make a difference.
Ready to take the next step?
If you’ve read this far, you’re already one step ahead! The key to a successful interview at Schneider Electric is preparation, passion, and honesty. Show up informed, be authentic, and don’t be afraid to let your enthusiasm shine through.
