Unveiling Innovation: A Glimpse into HMI Intern’s Journey at Schneider Electric

Introducing Chloe, a Human Machine Interface (HMI) intern within our R&D Department in Osaka, Japan. Chloe hails from France and joined Schneider Electric as an intern, while she is studying abroad in Japan. She studied general engineering and specialized in robotics and mechatronics in her final year.

Join me as I sit down with Chloe to have a chat about her exciting role, how she developed a functional camera module prototype, and embraced diverse experiences and sustainability! 

What was your Role & Responsibility at Schneider during your internship? 

During my four months as an intern on the electromechanical team at HMI, I was responsible for developing a camera module accessory for HMI. 

What are your achievements and learnings during your internship at Schneider? 

During my internship, I learned a lot about the various steps in product development, from market trends to prototyping. I also gained a broader understanding of the HMI industry and developed many new technical and soft skills, including improving my English and Japanese. One of my significant achievements was successfully creating a functional camera module prototype. 

Please share why you wanted to experience Schneider Electric’s Internship. 

I applied for the internship at Schneider Electric Japan because I wanted to experience working at a globally leading company and be part of the unique R&D headquarters for HMI. Schneider Electric Japan’s diverse environment felt like a great match for me. 

What was your most impressionable or fun moment during your internship at Schneider? 

I have many cherished memories from my time at Schneider, including Hanami lunches (a traditional Japanese celebration of the Sakura blossoms), team gatherings, recreational activities like sports clubs, and countless enjoyable interactions with colleagues during lunch. 

What would you say to someone who is considering starting an internship at Schneider? 

There are many reasons to intern at Schneider. You will have the unique opportunity to work for the world’s most sustainable company and make a significant impact on sustainability. You will learn many technical skills from team experts who support your growth. Finally, you will gain hands-on experience and feel integrated into a company that prioritizes employee well-being.
