Schneider Electric’s Global Family Leave Policy supports a healthy work-life balance and allows employees to take time off for life’s moments that matter the most. We are proud to share that our Global Family Leave Policy has been enhanced in 2023 to reflect the changing dynamics of families, and includes increased paid time off for primary and secondary parental leave and for care leave.

Welcoming a child into your family is a tremendous occasion. It is important to have time to step out of work and get more time for key moments in life. We believe that it is essential for a company to establish a family-friendly environment within workplaces in order to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Hence, family leave is a key element in supporting our needs by providing peace of mind, workplace flexibility, and paid time off. We are happy and proud to be part of an inclusive and caring company that can support us to balance competing work and family.
This year, we are excited to hear that the company has refreshed the Global Family Leave Policy. You may wonder, what has been updated?
With Global Family Leave Policy 2.0, the amount of paid time has increased for parental and care leave, compared to when it was first launched in 2017. We are able to enjoy the extra time off to better take care of, not only ourselves, but also our loved ones.
- Primary Parental Leave: Increased from 12 weeks to 20 weeks paid
- Secondary Parental Leave: Increased from 2 weeks to 4 weeks paid
- Care Leave: Increased from 1 week to 2 weeks paid
Let us tell you more about how we are benefitted from the enhanced policy!
Lexis Schmit Herman, Pricing Manager

“I can’t describe what it means to me to have added 8 weeks in the policy. It allows me to not only soak in these last baby snuggles, but also to simply figure out life as a family of five. This is such a fleeting stage of life. Knowing Schneider is supportive of my well-being during this time gives me confidence that I will be able to contribute my best self when I return to work.
This enhancement to the parental leave policy proves Schneider’s commitment to supporting our work-life balance and well-being in offering such a competitive benefits package.”
Kristen Larsen, Employer Brand Strategist

“When my daughter was born in 2020, I was grateful for Schneider Electric’s 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave, but it didn’t feel like enough time. By the time my son was born in 2023, I was delighted to see that the company had enhanced their policy to 20 weeks of fully paid leave. This gave me time to heal, bond with my child, adjust to our changing family dynamic, and obtain postpartum care without worrying about returning to work so soon.
I was able to focus on my family and cherish precious moments with both my newborn son and my toddler daughter. My husband is also a Schneider Electric employee, and we were grateful for the time off he was able to spend with our family.”
Christoffer Larsen, Global Services Segment Director

“In my 15+ years with Schneider, I have seen policies change for the better. When my son was born in 2023, I was thrilled to discover that the company had improved their policy to 4 weeks of fully paid leave. My parental leave enabled me to savor special moments with my family and be fully present for my children, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
Returning to work, I felt reenergized, and I consider myself fortunate to be part of a company that genuinely values its employees’ well-being.”
