Embracing Different to Celebrate Diversity at Schneider Electric

We “Embrace Different” and at Schneider Electric, this is one of our core values.

We aim to provide equal opportunities to everyone, everywhere, and to ensure all employees feel uniquely valued and safe to contribute their best. Now, more than ever, it is important to embrace our differences and build a strong community by fostering inclusion where everyone feels free to be their unique self.

Schneider Electric Diversity and Inclusion

Inequality does not stop in the face of a pandemic. As we move back to “business as unusual” knowing that minorities are even more impacted during challenging times, there is more work to be done to make inclusion a reality for our diversities.

Throughout October we recognise both LGBT+ Awareness Month globally and Black History month in the UK. We will recognise and celebrate our LGBT+ and Black communities in all their individual diversity and uniqueness, as we aim to build awareness, develop allyship, and advocate for the community.

We are already making great strides in becoming a best in class employer for diversity and inclusion.  And it hasn’t gone unnoticed – in 2020 Schneider had earned a spot on Forbes’ Best Employers for Diversity 2020 and the World’s Most Admired Companies by Fortune.

Ultimately, we want everyone to be their authentic selves, and remember, “I am Me, I am Unique, I am Schneider”.

Emma Gallagher, Employer Branding & Graduate Recruitment Lead UK&I

During my time at Schneider, I have been encouraged to step out of my comfort zone, try new things, and learn new skills. I’ve developed a wealth of knowledge, not only from colleagues in the UK & Ireland but globally too. The support I have been given by the business to embrace my passions has led to further opportunities for me to grow and progress in my career. I now lead Employer Branding for UK & Ireland as well as recruiting our future Early Talents and am proudly part of the team leading the drive on Diversity & Inclusion.

It’s important for me to be part of a company and team where I feel truly comfortable to be my unique self, and where my voice is valued to make a positive change. The Schneider culture leaves you feeling empowered and engaged to challenge yourself, challenge the norm, and succeed.

Kevin Adekoya, Project Engineer

Working at Schneider I have been able to grow and develop my skills, both personally and professionally. Starting off as a Graduate within the company gave me great exposure to the business, as I was able to make great connections and work with people from different cultures and backgrounds. With regard to personal growth, I have been able to learn from this and I continue to do so in my current role, as Schneider encourages its employees to “Embrace Different”. This being one of our core values, I am encouraged to constantly learn from others and challenge projects with the aim to add value.
