I am excited to share my first in a 10-set series of blogs about the advantages of joining the Schneider Electric EcoXpert Partner Program!

EcoXpert partners form a global networking local business support

EcoXpert network

How many building automation experts does it take to screw in a light bulb? The answer is ten: one to screw it in, and the other nine to program it, link to the BMS, and access the IoT.

If you’re in the building automation business, that joke isn’t far off. Not long ago, you just needed to understand thermostats and meters. And a light bulb was just a light bulb.

These days, you need a full range of technologies and an army of engineers to create an intelligent building. Nobody can go it alone anymore. That’s why the first reason to join Schneider Electric’s EcoXpert program is “network.”

A little help from your friends

First, a few numbers. The EcoXpert Partner Program is one of the largest communities of its kind in the world with more than 3,000 trained and certified partners spanning 40-plus countries. Our partners have installed thousands upon thousands of systems and generated millions of dollars, euros, and rubles in revenue.

But it’s not a community because of its size. It’s a networking community because that was its purpose from the start. The program’s mission is “to connect expertise, ignite growth and enable success for our EcoXpert partners because together we deliver best-in-class services and solutions to our valued customers.” In other words, we are greater than the sum of our parts.

For example, as an EcoXpert partner, you become part of the Schneider Electric family with access to innovation and technology driven by our IoT-enabled EcoStruxure architecture and platforms. You get to collaborate with other EcoXpert partners, expanding your knowledge and experience, and broadening your bid scope.

You also receive advanced training directly from Schneider Electric in key areas of expertise–Critical Power, Light & Room Control, Datacom, Building Management, and Connected Power. This enables you to stay abreast of technology and theory, and demonstrates to your customers that you are an expert in your field.

Finally, and certainly not least, the EcoXpert community helps generate new business. You become part of a network of expert solution providers, able to reach out to others when you need to add resources or fill gaps in expertise for a given project: real EcoXpert networking.

The proof is in the pudding, as they say

Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida.

A great example of the EcoXpert networking community in action is the Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida. Four partners worked with Schneider Electric, each bringing their own special expertise, to create a world-class power management system that monitors and delivers exactly the right power to all the vital equipment that helps the hospital care for sick children from around the world.

What better work can a community do? Check out these videos of the four partners who collaborated on the project: MC2, Graybar, TLC Engineering, and Borrell Electric.

Next week I’ll discuss reason #2 to become an EcoXpert partner: Differentiating yourself in technology and in business.
