Walking the talk: How Schneider Electric champions mental health

Mental health is a vital part of overall wellbeing—and at Schneider Electric we treat it with the same importance as physical health. Because challenges can affect anyone, we invest in awareness, education, and resources so employees can prioritize their mental wellbeing, support one another, and speak openly without fear of stigma.

This Mental Health Month, we’re reinforcing that commitment by fostering everyday habits of wellbeing, empathy, and connection. Through immersive experiences, storytelling, and practical tools, we aim to create a culture where care drives resilience, fuels sustainable performance, and strengthens our collective potential.

But what does this look like in practice? We spoke with two Schneider leaders—Kasim Mohammed, who leads Services across the UK&I, and Jacqueline Moreno, Director for the End-to-End Transactional Project in South America—about their experiences and perspectives on mental wellbeing at work.

Why mental health matters at Schneider Electric

For Kasim, mental health has become a leadership priority:

“I’ve learned that wellbeing isn’t just personal, it’s something leaders need to actively support.”

Jacqueline agrees, noting how the world of work has evolved:

“Twenty-five years ago, physical activity wasn’t a priority for me. Now, it’s critical. Digital transformation demands fast actions, but we’re not robots. Work-life balance is more realistic now, and I look forward to being present and enjoying life here and now.”

Support that makes a difference

Both leaders shared moments when Schneider’s culture of care truly shone.
Kasim recalls:

“There was a time when I needed to work remotely and be closer to family. My manager and team were incredibly understanding. That support made a big difference.”

Jacqueline reflects on a health challenge:

“Ten years ago, during auditing season, I had a severe migraine. My manager stepped in so I could take care of my health. I felt valued and cared for, and that’s why I make an effort to help others now.”

Initiatives that empower care by design

From flexible schedules to mental health first aiders, Schneider Electric offers practical tools to support employees. Jacqueline highlights our Global Care Strategy, which focuses on:

  • Psychological Safety and Inclusion
  • Well-being Diagnosis Tool
  • Spot the signs of mental health
  • Flexibility through hybrid work, flex-days, and recharge options

These initiatives help employees balance personal and professional lives while feeling safe and supported to sustain long-term success.

A culture built on care

When asked to describe Schneider’s culture, Kasim says:

“It’s real. People genuinely look out for each other.”

Jacqueline adds:

“We’re a multicultural organization that celebrates diversity while staying focused on people. Respect, ambition, and inclusion are at the core of everything we do.”

Advice for anyone struggling

Both leaders encourage openness:

  • Kasim: “Don’t keep it to yourself. Talk to someone—a colleague, a manager, or a mental health first aider.”
  • Jacqueline: “Seek help inside and outside of work. Set boundaries, take real breaks, and never skip meals.”

Why choose Schneider Electric?

Care is how we lead; well-being is the outcome. It is embedded in how we work. Kasim sums it up:

“If you ask for help here, you’ll get it. And over time, you’ll pay it forward.”

Jacqueline emphasizes trust and flexibility:

“A culture based on trust increases engagement and productivity. Schneider Electric has made me a better version of myself personally and professionally.”
