Experience is a superpower: Schneider’s Senior Talent Program

At Schneider, we believe that talent has no age limit. Our purpose—to bridge progress and sustainability for all—relies on the collective strength of our people, across generations, geographies, and experiences.

Senior Talent Program - powering the talent and aspirations of our experienced employees.

Among many programs that support our employees across different career stages, we have the Senior Talent Program. As a leader of it, I have had the privilege of witnessing how this program is not only transforming careers but also enriching our culture and business outcomes.

Launched globally across all Schneider’s countries, the Senior Talent Program was born from our strong belief that our most experienced professionals hold a wealth of knowledge, wisdom, and resilience that can shape the future of our company. Through meaningful career conversations, experienced professionals are empowered to design the next step of their career in line with their unique aspirations, whether they choose to continue contributing at a high level as before, pivot, accelerate, or transition to the next phase.

To support these conversations, we’ve introduced a set of interactive workshops to equip both employees and managers with the mindset and tools needed to make career discussions impactful and future-focused. Senior professionals can reflect on their career journey and prepare for effective dialogue, while managers learn how to lead these with confidence and clarity.

Workshops are just the beginning. The program also offers a wide range of initiatives to support them in concretely creating their desirable professional future, such as upskilling, knowledge transfer, mentoring, new contractual opportunities, recognition, personal planning, and care packages.

Individual career paths

The Senior Talent Program isn’t about following a single path. It’s about recognizing that senior professionals bring a rich variety of experiences, aspirations, and visions for the future. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach, and the personal stories that follow reveal a vibrant spectrum of possibilities. They show how individuals can truly own their development and shape what the next chapter of their career looks like.

Sonja, Remote Sales Manager in the Netherlands, has been with Schneider Electric for almost 20 years and is willing to continue contributing at high level within the organization. Through the Senior Talent Program, she embraced her role as a mentor and stabilizing force within her team. “For me it’s very nice to supervise an intern at the moment who just arrived here to learn the trade”, Sonja shared.

Her wisdom and calm leadership have become a source of strength for younger colleagues. Sonja says that she is happy to show that people who have some more years of experience also make a valuable contribution in our company. “I still have lots of plans and I still see lots of opportunities, so I’m not done for now. I always got new space to develop myself, to try new things and broaden my knowledge,” she adds.

Arie, based in Indonesia as a Logistics Director, exemplifies the spirit of lifelong learning and is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others: “Professionally, I feel proud to contribute to the success of our partners and share my supply chain experience with students and curious learners.”

Through knowledge transfer, Arie discovered the joy of developing others. Her reflections remind us that knowledge without purpose can become obsolete, but when shared, it becomes a catalyst for transformation. “The program has had a positive impact by enabling us to share our expertise with distributors and partners. In terms of teaching, it’s about giving back—sharing knowledge and inspiring others.”

Thanks to the Senior Talent Program, Paulo, a Sales Manager from Brazil, feels empowered to accelerate his career. He joined the workshop to exchange experiences with other senior professionals and employees, and to explore tools for identifying strengths, values, and motivators. “I left the workshop with a new perspective and practical tools to strengthen my skills and boost my growth, regardless of my chronological age,” he said.

Paulo emphasizes the importance of being challenged to better understand ourselves, so that our next career step aligns well with our aspirations.

The beauty of the program is that it supports so many different paths. After nearly four decades at Schneider Electric, Steve, a GTS Solutions Delivery Engineer based in North Carolina, is preparing for retirement with clarity and confidence—thanks to the Empower Certified Financial Planner benefit. “The in-depth session helped me feel more comfortable about my coming retirement,” Steve said. “It covered things I hadn’t even considered—social security, taxation, estate planning—and gave me tools I can continue using.

Steve’s story highlights the importance of planning and the peace of mind that comes with it. His advice to others? “This service has high value for every employee. It’s never too early—or too late—to get on the right path to financial wellness.

Srikanth, a Senior General Manager Engineering in India, echoes a phrase we often hear when speaking with senior talent: “to understand myself better.” The program equips employees with knowledge, tools, and practices that help them view their careers from a fresh perspective and with greater confidence. “It gave me clarity on my path to transitioning, dispelled myths, and eased fears. It empowered me to choose a better direction for my career,” he shared.

A culture that ensures that everyone thrives

These stories are more than testimonials—they are proof points of our culture that values, among others, Inclusion, Mastery, and Purpose. At Schneider Electric, we don’t just support one generation, we support them all. Among our six long-term sustainability commitments, two focus specifically on our people. We are dedicated to creating equal opportunities for all our employees and harnessing the power of all generations by fostering lifelong learning, upskilling, and development for everyone, from fresh graduates to senior talent, recognizing the unique aspirations and needs of each group.

The Senior Talent Program is helping us unlock the full potential of our people, ensuring that no one is left behind.

As we continue to expand the program, I am inspired by the courage, humility, and generosity of our senior talent. They are not only shaping their own futures—they are helping us to shape ours. What is super clear to me is that when experience meets opportunity, the impact is profound—for individuals, teams, and the company as a whole.
