Malin Högman, Nordic Business Support Manager in Digital Energy from Stockholm, Sweden, has been with Schneider Electric for over a decade. Malin’s story showcases her dedication to supporting her colleagues, as well as to her own personal development while adapting to diverse roles and how the company’s strong employee development support has empowered her to thrive in challenging situations.

Starting fresh
Before joining Schneider Electric, Malin worked at DELL Technologies for 14 years. Her first roles were as project manager and business operations manager working with hardware in the IT business. After 14 years she felt that it was time for new challenges, so Malin took the opportunity and joined Schneider Electric in 2014.
Malin’s first role at Schneider Electric was as Order Processing & Export Manager at Västerhaninge plant in Sweden. The job was right up her alley and with her background in Six Sigma and transformation projects, she set out to make her team work more efficient. What she wasn’t prepared for was the location where she was supposed to start working. She said, “I thought I was supposed to work in the city center in Stockholm but instead it was in Västerhaninge which is really out in the countryside where the closest neighbors are horses”. Despite this surprise, she took it in stride and ended up working at this location for the next 10 years.
Climbing the ladder
Over the years, Malin took on various roles made possible by Schneider’s commitment to employee development support. She moved from Order Processing & Export Manager to Distribution Center (DC) and Warehouse Manager, helping to set up a central stock for building products worldwide. After this she transitioned to a HR Business Partner (HRBP) role where her ability to lead and adapt was key to her success. Parallel with this, Malin also took on the role as SPS Regional Matter Expert (RME) for HR in Europe, doing SPS audits at DCs and plants around Europe, gathering knowledge, spreading best practice and coaching on HR processes.
Last year, in 2024, she then moved on to a Business Support Manager role for the Nordics in Digital Energy. Now she leads a team focusing on transformation, efficiency, and fostering collaboration across the Nordic countries. With this most recent job transition finally came a move to the headquarters in Stockholm where she initially thought she would start her journey with Schneider 11 years ago.
Personal development and support
Throughout her career at Schneider Electric, Malin has taken many opportunities to develop herself. Taking care and supporting people has been a big part of her roles throughout the years, but she also feels supported by the company. She states: “Schneider Electric, to me, is taking care of the people working in the company in a very good way. We are not only talking about it but we are actually doing a lot for our people”. Commitment to employee development support has been a cornerstone of Malin’s career, allowing her to transition into very different roles and continuously expanding her skillset.
Finding inspiration
Malin is proud to be part of a company that values taking care of its people: “we try to make people feel heard and help develop them to be their best at their work”. Her story serves as an example of how, with the right employee development support, everyone can achieve great things.
