A Master’s student in Energy Management at The University of Texas at Dallas, I found my academic passion transform into a vivid reality as a Microgrid Partner Development Intern. In these intricate webs of energy generation, storage, and management, Schneider Electric plays the role of a maestro, orchestrating a future where energy is not just consumed but intelligently managed.
An Intern’s Odyssey in the World of Energy Giants
As a novice amidst energy titans, my role was to delve into the mysteries of microgrids, unraveling their potential and challenges. From the vibrant discussions of market trends to the strategic brainstorming sessions, I was a pirate charting unknown waters, seeking treasures of knowledge and experience. My quest involved forging alliances – not with other pirates, but with partners, aiding them in navigating the complex seas of microgrid development.
The core of my responsibilities involved extensive research about federal funding for Microgrids, aimed at uncovering opportunities in the form of grants and incentives. This research was instrumental in expanding and creating new business opportunities for Schneider Electric. Other responsibilities included creating comprehensive PowerPoint presentations and a Microgrid Flex guidebook. These resources not only educated our internal teams but also helped create a strong foundation for business expansion. Since staying updated with the latest developments is crucial in the energy management field, another task of mine was to craft informative newsletters that kept our team in the loop regarding changes in government policies and industry happenings.
From Summer Heat to Autumn Leaves: An Extended Voyage
Initially a summer saga, my adventure extended into the fall, mirroring the transition of seasons with my own professional growth. Each day at Schneider Electric was like turning a new page in a book of endless learning. The more I delved into the world of microgrids, the more my role evolved, blossoming from a mere internship into a journey of profound professional metamorphosis.
