Innovation is greater than any new product or feature. It’s a mindset – one that defines our long history and future. For Schneider Electric, that now means harnessing the power of energy technology to solve real-world problems, drive efficiency, and boost sustainability at scale. It means building ecosystems where AI, data, and people work together fluidly.
The latter of these, people, has always fascinated me: how innovative ideas take root in individuals before they blossom as technology. And the next generation is central to sustaining innovation.
Those ideas came to life at Schneider Electric’s Innovation Summit – a space where today’s frontier technologies met tomorrow’s talent.
The collaboration catalyst
We all know the world has changed. And in these new seas, no company can succeed alone. Industry partnerships and ecosystem collaboration are central to Schneider Electric’s strategy – a key differentiator in our new company story. By co-creating, scaling, and innovating with partners, we unlock impact at scale. This is how we accelerate digital transformation and build a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable world.
Walking through the Innovation Hub, you see ideas that have escaped the drawing board – solutions that make sustainability practical and digital transformation tangible. From smart energy management systems to AI-driven automation, the technologies showcased are not abstract concepts. They’re tools that help industries cut emissions and optimize operations, building real resilience.
Of the many success stories, one example that leapt out was Acciona, a global leader in water treatment. Together with Schneider Electric and AVEVA, they wove a digital thread across all their plants. Their energy use, processes, and asset performance are now monitored in real time, with AI turning raw data into smarter decisions. The payoff is heavy: lower operating costs and fewer outages, while equipment lasts longer.
That same spirit of collaboration extends beyond companies. It includes the next generation. Just as we co-create with industry leaders, we must also invest in future innovators to keep transformation moving.
Passing the spark
One of my favorite moments at the Summit was speaking to students. Every time I do, I’m reminded of my own university days – when a guest speaker’s words ignited my passion for technology and sustainability. I still remember the excitement and the sense of possibility I felt.
Engaging with students and the future workforce early is essential. While all the platitudes about the youth inheriting the world are true, more importantly: they’re the architects of tomorrow’s solutions. The trajectory of climate change and resilience is in their hands. By connecting with them now, we’re investing in the future of our company and industry at large.
So I want students to know their ideas matter. They will have a leading role to play in building a more sustainable world. And I want them to see that companies like Schneider Electric are ready to listen, collaborate, and – perhaps mostly importantly – invest in their potential.
I was fortunate early in my career to have mentors who believed in me and gave me opportunities to grow. That support made all the difference. It opened my eyes to the possibilities I had to make a positive impact. To give that back feels like a full-circle moment.
By bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application, we help ensure the next generation is equipped with the skills, mindset, and values needed to tackle the challenges of the energy transition and digital transformation.
The road ahead
Innovation, collaboration, and talent engagement are interconnected. Together, they form the brickwork of a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive future. That’s what drives me. That’s what drives Schneider Electric.
As I leave Innovation Summit, I feel energized – not just by the technologies we showcased, but by the conversations we had and the partnerships we strengthened. Transformation is in motion, and I’m proud to be part of it.
