Hilary Maxson has served as the Chief Financial Officer of Schneider Electric and a member of its Executive Committee since April 2020. She joined Schneider Electric in 2017 as Senior Vice President & CFO of Building and IT and was appointed CFO of Energy Management, the largest business unit, in 2019 after relocating from Hong Kong to France. Hilary’s experience spans regulated and deregulated businesses and she has held progressive roles in corporate and operational finance, M&A and business development, starting out in banking then moving to power and utilities through 12-years with the AES Corporation. She has led diverse teams on the continents of North America, South America, Africa, Asia and Europe. As of 1 June 2021, Hilary was appointed a Non-Executive Director at Anglo American (FTSE 50) and subsequently Chair of the Audit Committee. Anglo American is a technology-forward and ESG-focused global mining company. As of 1 August 2021, Hilary was appointed a Non-Executive Director at Aveva (FTSE 50), a leading industrial software company and a key player in driving digital transformation globally. Aveva is 60% owned by Schneider Electric. Hilary holds both a bachelor’s degree in Applied economics and Management from Cornell University as well as an MBA from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.
